Flexbrick's Ceramic Fabric Brings Jardin Niel to Life

Jardin Niel | Michèle & Miquel Arquitectes & Paisatgistes

In Toulouse, France, Jardin Niel park is being reshaped with Flexbrick's ceramic fabric, creating a flowing, wave-like surface. Designed by Michèle & Miquel, this innovative system blends perforated and continuous paving to redefine urban spaces.

What is Flexbrick?

Flexbrick is a Spanish system of flexible ceramic sheets, perfect for horizontal and vertical coverings. It offers architects creative freedom with customizable patterns, colors, and textures—while being durable and easy to install.

Transforming Jardin Niel

Spanning 21,000 sqm, Jardin Niel uses 11,000 sqm of Flexbrick paving with 12 unique patterns. Most of the surface features galvanized steel sheets, with stainless steel reserved for water zones. This flexibility lets architects shape custom designs, giving the park its signature waves.

Revolutionizing Urban Design

Since its 2011 debut, Flexbrick has earned global recognition for transforming pavements, façades, and vaulted structures. By combining ceramic tiles with woven steel, it creates sustainable, efficient, and striking designs.

The Jardin Niel project showcases its power to merge functionality with artistry.
